How Balance is always the answer

Balance, Reality & Alignment

'Be aware when things are out of balance. Stay centred within the way.'

Lao Tzu

I like to visualise ideas and concepts, it helps me see things more clearly, quickly and deeply.

These simple graphics illustrate how I see certain helpful 'truths' in our human design. These are so useful to be aware of since they are how 'we' already work as humans, but these are often overlooked in modern life, causing unnecessary stress, tension and anxiety.

These inverted triangles have two lateral 'concepts' across the top and a midline 'truth' ('the way') at the bottom tip.

Balance:

When we have Peace of Mind, we feel secure, content and happy.

We can balance listening to our intellectual mind (leant, accumulated knowledge), with our innate access to wisdom (our intuition), so we settle into Peace of Mind. This state of mind feels the best, it's our natural state - there's no tension when we have peace of mind. We're at equilibrium.

This is freeing because we can appreciate our intellect but also relax, knowing that our intuition is always there to support us too in real time, so we don't have to do anything to be ok in the moment.

If we don't feel peace of mind in the moment, it's a sign to slow down, breath and wait it out. You will naturally calm down and feel more balanced.

Our feelings indicate what our current state of mind is and signpost us back into balance. It's how we're designed and is totally natural, it's just not always known and understood.

A tense mind or feeling of urgency means slow down, not speed up or panic to act - this is the opposite of how we can feel under stress. I think this is helpful to be aware of, like a STOP check engine light if we're overthinking.

Reality:

Now is the only time (reality) there is. The more time you spend consciously in the present moment, the more balanced you'll feel.

The past has moved on - it only exists now if you call (recall) it to mind. The future never comes - you can think about (plan) what you'd like to happen, OR worry about what you'd prefer didn't happen, but that's just your imagination making up possible scenarios - Literally anything could happen!

You can only ACT now - you can't change the past or make tomorrow (any future time) happen as you'd like it to now.... So perhaps we just feel off balance if too much of our attention is not here & now with us? (If our mind is thinking laterally; trying to work things out & control life, unnecessarily.)

Being with 'what is' in the moment, without resistance, judgement or expectation sounds extreme for us humans, but aiming for presence and just doing our best in the moment is a pretty positive aim I've found.

Daydreaming about future possibilities and reminiscing about happy memories now is of course natural, but it's only ever happening now, in our thoughts

With conscious awareness of this, you'll feel more balanced, content and happy, as well as more open & receptive to in-the-moment wisdom too.

Alignment:

When we recognise that we are more than our body & mind, and appreciate we have a deeper essence or soul, we can relax a bit and trust life a little more.

There's so much more to life than we see. In fact, it's been scientifically established that only around 4% of everything in the universe is visible - the rest is invisible! I think that's exciting and hopeful! There's so much more for us to discover and see about life. It's expansive.

Aligning more to our deeper, less visible essence takes away tension. The pendulum settles in balance and we feel more grounded.

(We naturally swing in and out of balance because of our human nature. Being aware & noticing this is what's helpful.)

Recognising we are the silent thinker, not the thoughts that come & go, or that we are the presence inside seeing our reflection in the mirror can help us to appreciate this inner essence (in the same way you know you are not the objects you see in front of you!)

Be the observer/witness who notices life - there's you + that which you see.

Awareness.

I hope that these three truths of our human design are helpful. Awareness of these truths helps us to naturally return more quickly to our balanced, aligned reality of the present moment, where all our power and grace exists.

'The Key to keeping your balance is knowing when you've lost it.'
